At the end of our trip east, Sean and I signed up for one of the biggest races on the east coast: The BOILERMAKER in Utica, NY. Sean and his brother Andy and Kris ran the 15K and I ran the 5K. There were close to 12,000 for the 15K and 2,000 for the 5K. This was one of the most intense and fun races that we have been involved in. There are live bands along the course, and we ran with so many people, it was amazing! The winner of the race, ran the 15K in 42:46! WICKED fast! He was from Kenya....
But Sean did an awesome job in the 15K and ran it in 1 hour and 17 minutes! His brother Andy, ran it in 1 hour and 3 minutes, and his brother Kris ran it in 1 hour and 34 minutes. Next year I will do the 15K, but for the 5K I didn't do so badly, I ran it in 29:54. Not too shabby! Another bonus at the end of the race, they serve free beer for 3 hours to all of the runners involved in the Boilermaker! It was amazing...
