Before and After

Back in late September / early October, Sean and I redesigned our bedroom. The before and after is quite different!! I was ready for a change, and so was Sean. We counted this as our Christmas present to each other, since the big purchase for the room was a new TV:)

BEFORE: The Bed was centered between the two windows, on the east side of the house.
BEFORE: I started to feel as if it was becoming too dark, too gloomy and too "not-put-together". We both needed a change. I felt like all of the furniture was "blending" into the room. Unfortunately, this is the only "Before" picture.

AFTER: The old furniture placement was not private, you could see the bed from the front door if the bedroom door was open. The new design offers a little more privacy. bed is on the opposite wall, the windows being on the left of the bed, and now the bed is on the south side of the house.

AFTER: The dresser serves as my nightstand. And the furniture now "pops" and everything feels crisp and clean:)
AFTER: A sitting area has replaced where the bed used to be. Believe it or not, these are curtains draped over our extra dining chairs. One day I will get around to making these official sewed chair covers...but for the time being these work:)
AFTER: The new fancy mounted TV:)

Santa!!

I took Owen to see Santa, after his 12 month appointment. (I will post his 12 month details along with his 1st birthday pictures later today:)

He studied Santa, didn't smile, and did his classic pensive study face:)

Santa looked good, Owen on the other hand, couldn't get him to smile. But at least we have the picture :) He is still cute though:) And at least he didn't have a breakdown right???

Texas Snow !!

We had a WHITE Christmas! I was like a little kid when it started snowing! I was so excited. It started to snow right when we got out of church on Christmas Eve.

That's right...I did take a picture of the time and the temperature on Christmas day! I had to...so we could all remember how cold it was on Christmas morning, as we were sipping coffee and opening presents:)
After Owen's nap on Christmas morning, we all went out and played in the snow! We had a blast!!

As you can see Mr. O LOVED the snow:)
My SNOW baby:) I just wish we got snow more often!!!

First thing on Christmas morning on the snow in the back yard!

Our Christmas!

We had a nice, quiet, and wonderful Christmas this year! There was something so marvelous about being able to spend quality time (just the three of us) on Christmas morning. We didn't have to rush around to get anywhere, and we spent our time opening presents, and enjoying the joyous morning. Owen loved every part of the morning. I think his favorite part of opening the presents was ripping off the bows. We also were blessed to have a WHITE Christmas this year! I think it made everything a little sweeter!

My Precious boy on Christmas Eve!

Our good friends, Peter and Kenda came over later in the evening for Christmas dinner. We ate a delicious meal, and played games until the wee hours of the morning! Peter and Kenda are moving in a few days to Iowa, and we will miss them dearly. It was wonderful to spend Christmas with them, and it was worth not getting sleep! Oliver is just 3 months younger than Owen, and they love playing with each other. I will post some more photos of bath time on Christmas with the boys...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!!

My Dear Sweet Owen,

It is hard to believe that exactly ONE year ago today, at this exact moment you were born.
God was with us every step of the way that morning, and He has continued to bless all of us this past year. I can't tell you how much we love you and thank God everyday that He blessed us so much with the gift of being your parents.
You truly have enriched our lives more than you will ever ever know.

This year has flown by so fast, with so many wonderful memories, and I can't wait for many more memories.

Happy birthday my love!

Christmas Tree Farm

Daddy and his boy!!
Oh, my dear little pensive one:)
"I'm coming mama:)"
Oh the wagon on the way to the farm with my daddy!

We had an AMAZING time at the Christmas Tree Farm. It was bitter cold...about 35-40 degrees outside (YES IN TEXAS!!!) But we braved the cold and picked out our tree. It was a great day!!

Christmas Time is Here!

We decorated our house this past weekend! We had so much fun decorating the house as a family. Here are a few photos of the finished product. We only had 1 broken ornament...which is pretty good, since Owen thought all of the glass ornaments were his own personal toy balls.

Thanksgiving!

Owen had a GREAT first Thanksgiving! We spent it with our good friends, Meredith and Trey, and their family. It was a wonderful relaxing day! Owen LOVED Thanksgiving dinner! He ate with both hands simultaneously! Here are a few of my favorite pictures. (These photos of his leftover Thanksgiving at home).

My little Monkey!

We had a wonderful Halloween!! Sean and I have needed a relaxing family time weekend, and we got just that. The past few weekends we have been running around with our heads cut off, and it was so wonderful to have family time this weekend. We were busy, but we had so much time together.

We have had so much rain this year it is unbelievable!! We have not been able to get to the pumpkin patch...until Halloween:) We headed there right when the pumpkin patch opened, Owen had a great time! Unfortunately, right when we got there we took like maybe 10-15 photos, and then our battery died on our big camera :( So most of the photos we took were from my phone. They all turned out really good! Our friend Kenda had her camera and I am waiting patiently for her photos she took:) But for the time being enjoy these:)

After we went to the Pumpkin Patch, we went to our friend's son's football game. Man, here in Texas, they take football seriously! Our friend's son is in 3rd grade, and played tackle football on a turf field. We enjoyed the day, but all of us got some unintended sun!!

Then we got ready for the weenie roast so we could show off our little monkey! One of the gentleman I work with puts on a weenie roast every Halloween. He lives in the next neighborhood across the way. Sean, Owen, and I trekked to his house, and had a wonderful visit with everyone there.

We had a great HALLOWEEN:) I only hope that every year will be as great as this year! :):):)
