DA BEARS!!!

Go Bears!!!

We are keeping our fingers crossed today because The Bears could make the playoffs today! As you can see the family is all dressed up and rooting for The Bears.  Actually these pictures were taken when The Bears played in Monday night...and The Bears won!  So Sean of course is wearing his jersey again today, Owen is sporting his onsie, and I am waiting for my Bears shirt to dry in the dryer.  Please help us root for Da Bears!
As you can see our little Owen is already a Bears fan:-)

We need the Vikings to lose in order for The Bears to clench the division...BOO Vikings...Hooray Bears!

On another note, Owen is doing wonderfully!  He is changing so much every day!  I am doing well, and recovering surprisingly well from the C-section.  I go for my 2 week check up tomorrow, and Owen goes tomorrow for a weight check as well.  He has been eating like a champ, so I don't forsee an issue with his weight.

My mom left yesterday after a nice long 2 week stay with us.  It was so hard to see her go!  She was such an amazing help, and having her around was so great!  It also was so great for her to be able to bond so much with Owen.  We had a wonderful visit together! I got teary eyed every now and again yesterday, and it wasn't because I was fearful of not being able to do it on my own, it's just that I know how much mom will miss...and how nice it was to have her here in Texas! I know that there is a reason that God has placed us where we are for a reason, but there are some days where I wish I was closer to family! But Sean has the week off, and we are going to tackle parenting together this week!

This was all of us on Christmas eve...Sean, me, Owen, Mom and Steve.

One Week Old Today :-)

Owen is officially one week old today!  I can hardly believe it!  Our internet went out this week, and it was FINALLY fixed yesterday.  That explains why we haven't posted any pictures.  It was the worst time for the internet to go out!

But we are doing really well.  Owen has his days and nights mixed up a little, but all in all he is doing wonderful!

Here are some pics for you to gaze upon.  I will post more later :)

We proudly announce...

OWEN ROBERT ANDERSON
December 12th, 2008
7 lbs 3 oz
19 1/2 inches long

He was delivered via emergency C-section at 9:38am on Friday morning.  I am recovering well from the surgery, and Owen is doing wonderfully.  I started having contractions at 2am on Friday morning.  They got very intense at 5am, varying from 5-7 minutes apart.  At 7am they were 3-4 minutes apart.  We finally arrived at the hospital at 8:10am and the monitors were hooked up to me by 8:30am.  Owen's heart rate was dropping drastically when I was having contractions, and the doc took him immediately via emergency c-section.  When he was born, his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck.  But God was good, and His timing was perfect, and now our little one is here safely!

Thank you all for your prayers, we could feel every one of them.  God is so good, and we are incredibly blessed!

More to come later :-)

Mr. Anderson is too Comfortable!

So I went to the Doc today for my 39 1/2 week appointment, and there has been no progress!  I am not effaced or dilated at all! UGH!  Apparently Mr. Anderson is quite comfortable and doesn't want to come out!

I will go again on Monday the 15th and if there is no progress, then we will induce on the 16th!  I can't believe the day is almost here!  My mom comes on the 14th, so the timing is great, but I was kinda looking forward to the "rush" to the hospital.  I know it could still happen in the next few days, but it is disappointing that I haven't advanced on my own.  I get contractions pretty much every day, but they aren't regular enough to "count". But nonetheless, our little boy will be here in just a few more days!  We are so excited:-)

Christmas Time is Here!

I cannot believe that Christmas is literally right around the corner!  This past weekend Sean and I put up the Christmas decorations:)  We always have so much fun decorating together! And this year it was even more fun knowing that it is going to be Mr. Anderson's first Christmas! We can't believe it!
And as you can see there are 3 stockings on the fireplace:-)  I can't tell you how exciting it is to add a new stocking to the mantel:-)
There is something so wonderful about having a real tree, and the smell of Christmas in the house!

I'm Free!

I can't believe it!  My last day of work was yesterday!  I was planning on my last day of work being on the 12th, but I had 10 days of vacation left that I still needed to take before the end of the year. Our HR policy is "use it or lose it" so I am using it!  And my maternity leave will start the day I have Mr. Anderson, which will be the 16th at the latest, so  I didn't want to lose 10 days...so I am using them now:)  I decided it be best for me to take the remaining days and get stuff done around the house, rest, do some Christmas shopping, and spend some time with hubby!  I can't complain, our HR policy is great !  I will have 13 weeks paid maternity leave, so I don't have to go back to work until March!  I am so blessed!

Hope you all have a wonderful day... I am off to go Christmas shopping:-)

Mr. Anderson's Retreat

Welcome to Mr. Anderson's Retreat!  We are finally done with the nursery!  I know I promised to post pictures like last week, but it has been a little busy! Enjoy the pics :-)

So as you can see there is a blank spot above his crib, this is where his name will go...And we'll find out that name in just a week and a half:-)  You know people have been giving Sean and I a hard time for keeping the name a secret, but we have really enjoyed being able to bond with him, and have our special time with Mr. Anderson.

Speaking of Mr. Anderson,  I had my 38 1/2 week appointment on Wednesday, and there still isn't any progress down below. Looks like he doesn't want to go anywhere :-(  I will go again on Wednesday the 10th and then again on the 15th.  If there isn't any progress, Doc said he will likely induce me on the 16th.  So we will see... We could have a baby sooner than the 16th though, it is always a possibility!  I just can't believe it is here already!

Weekend Update

We had a jammed packed weekend of yummy food, great friends, running shopping, and tons of movies!

For Thanksgiving this year, Sean and I made Thanksgiving dinner together, and our good friends / neighbors Tom and Di came to celebrate the day with us! Although we are so far from both of our families, we were so thankful to have such good friends to share the special day with us!

Sean was such an amazing help with dinner this year!  As you can see, he is basting the bird, and helped with all of the sides!  I am so lucky to have such a great husband!

We ate and ate, and ate...and I must add...being pregnant at Thanksgiving is absolutely fabulous!  I say that, and yet I get full really fast.  But I just ate really slowly, and enjoyed every bite!  I honestly don't know what is better... the actual day of Thanksgiving?? or the fridge full of goodies for the whole weekend???  Regardless, Thanksgiving day was great.  We finished the day off with a Wii bowling tournament.  My team won of course:-)  I hold the record at the Anderson household!

Friday I had to go to work for half a day, but it wasn't too bad!  I came home in the afternoon and we watched movies all day long!  It was spectacular!  I came down with a little cold, so the rest on Friday was great!

Saturday was the Believe 2008 5k down in a historic downtown McKinney.  Sean and Bonnie(our Jack Russell) ran the 5k together, while I walked the 1 mile fun walk.  Bonnie was the first doggie to finish!  She did awesome! She is all business when she runs...It is too cute!  I can't wait to start running again! Next year, not only will we have Bonnie running with us we will have our little Mr. Anderson to run with too! I can't wait...Sean and I will have to draw straws on who takes who running!

After the race, we shopped in the historic downtown center.  Great shops, and we got some fun stuff!

Sunday we went to church, and then pulled all of the Christmas stuff out!  We put up the lights, and then had some friends over to watch the Bears vs. The Vikings game.  I squeezed into my pre-pregnancy Bears shirt, and we watched the game. Sean took a short video of me wearing the shirt, and that video will be for my and Sean's eyes only...squeezing into the shirt...two words...not pretty :-) The Bears lost, and we were bummed, but we had a great night!
